ARTIST NAME: Bobby Mac
Bobby Mac has always enjoyed working with his hands and creating things. In the 1970's when macrame was popular he made earrings from wax thread to sell. Fast forward 25 years - while he was living in Southern California, he began making mosiac tables from stained glass. At his fishing lodge in Northern Canada while running from a bear, he fell and broke his hand. He had to return to the United States for surgery and months of physical therapy, part of which involved stringing beads. Over time, the bead size decreased and he went from stringing on a cord to using a needle and fine thread. His beaded designs are intricate works of beauty! This is definitely a case of a horrible accident turning into a wonderful passion with something beautiful to show for it!
