Mike Johansen

Mike Johansen considers himself a potter who uses traditional techniques and styles with occasional flights of fancy. There are many aspects of nature that he enjoys including in his eclectic work. Mike loves to capture the beauty of contrasting forms, textures, colors, and lines found in Southern Utah and Arizona in his work. As the land of his childhood, these areas have been inspirational in many of his ceramic pieces. In addition to ceramic art pieces, Mike strives to create functional pieces that are useful and aesthetically pleasing.
