Hi there! We’re Laura & Kristen!
Laura, owner of Main & Maxwell, is a New York native who moved south in 1995 with her husband, Matt, an Army veteran and physician. A lifelong art lover and accomplished potter, she runs her home studio, Bell House Pottery, when not at Main & Maxwell. As a former teacher and mother of two, Laura has always been invested in encouraging others to shine. Her go-getter nature and entrepreneurial spirit led her to open Greenwood’s first gallery and gift shop of its kind. Known for her humor and spontaneous singing, she (along with the shop) has become a town favorite.
Gallery manager Kristen Bennett, a Lander University graduate, keeps the gallery vibrant with her humor, wit and style. Outside of running the shop, Kristen is also a celebrated painter and sketch artist. When she isn’t working on commission artwork, she spends all of her time with her dazzling boyfriend, two adorable step kids, and two fat cats. She loves to run, watch trashy reality television, and eat her boyfriend’s cooking!
