Sheila Crowder

Artist Sheila Crowder is a self-taught painter and jeweler. Her jewelry pieces at Main & Maxwell focus on the use of fresh water pearls and chinoiserie beads. She combines the two with gold and gemstones to create beautiful and contemporary wearable art. Shelia has been designing jewelry for over thirty years. She fell in love with the process when she owned her own art gallery, West Main Gallery & Gifts in Ninety Six, South Carolina. When not in the garden or designing jewelry, Sheila works on painting portraits. She studied with Charles Beck III at the Art Institute of Chicago and went on to study in the Prosopam, a center for iconography, also in Chicago. When not pursuing artistic endeavors, Shelia spends all the time she can with her grandchildren!
