Sue McFarland

Sue McFarland has been weaving baskets for 30 years. She has attended many workshops and worked under a number of basketry teachers. Experimenting has led Sue to develop her own personal style. She prefers working with natural materials and enjoys gathering them from her environment. Among the materials she likes to work with are deer antlers, twigs, vines, and pods. She usually adds color to the neutral shades of the natural materials she works with. Sue likes the organic shapes of the natural materials and lets them speak to her as she visualizes the process to achieve the finished basket.
